COMPANY BACKGROUND
Francisco Hernandez, president of Green On Grounds, has been involved in the landscape industry since he was a young boy. He started working with his father at age 14. Being a young boy and a full-time student, by the word of mouth he picked up landscape side work that he would do over the weekends with his father, as his father worked full time for Ferrari Carano Vineyards. While in high school he also worked for his uncle's company on the weekends and during his time off from school. Francisco graduated from Geyserville High School in 2009 and enrolled to Santa Rosa Junior College. Since he enjoyed working outside and loved doing landscaping, he took Horticultural courses and completed two certifications in 2012. One was for Landscape Technician and the other for Landscape Maintenance.
After accomplishing his two certifications he then decided to join a residential landscape business which he then became part of the Gardenworks team. He was a labor for two years working in construction and then moved to maintenance for another year. After gaining much more experience he then joined a landscape commercial business called LanDesign. He was there for another 3 years gained alot more experience and moved on to Geared For Growing which he was there for 3 years. As Francisco worked for all three business, he continued doing landscape side work and gained more business on the side.
Once the pandemic hit, he then left Geared For Growing and began working on his own. Three years later as Francisco found himself alot busier he then decided to get his contractor's license. With the help of Richard from Geared for Growing and Stacy from Landesign he reached his objective and as of January 23, 2023 he is now C-27 licensed by the state of California.
